The quality of teachers is a seminal and binding constraint for truly unlocking human potential that fundamentally underpins the success of South Africa’s young democracy. Teaching is very simply not an aspirational profession it needs to be in order to attract our best pupils to become our best future, expert teachers. In short, we want to make the strongest possible case and provide the greatest possible support for our best students to become our best teachers.
Most people would ask “Why Teaching?” If you really want to be at the forefront of an education revolution, the question Jakes Gerwel Fellowship would like to ask you is “Why not teaching?”
